Erich Weight

A BIG congratulations to Erich Weight, Special Education Teacher at North Thurston High School - Our Hawks Prairie Rotary Teacher of the Month!

Erich was nominated by Nick Greenwell, his Principal.

Erich Weight

"Mr Weight personifies “Everyone Belongs”.

He is one of the best Special Education teachers I have ever seen, and his focus is constantly on the positive and letting students seeing a half-full cup.
He seems to live by the motto “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it.”

Erich is a wrestling coach, and has gone out of his way to grow interest in the program, with a large focus being on getting unconnected student populations involved.
He goes above and beyond to help students that wouldn’t normally have the means to get physicals, equipment and gear to be able to participate in other sports in addition to wrestling, and it shows in participation growth in these programs.

Our students, all of our students, are truly fortunate to have a teacher like Mr Weight on campus to connect with and help students.
If anyone deserves to be a recipient of the “Everyone Belongs” Compassionate Colleague award, that person is Erich Weight!"

Nick Greenwell, Principal
