Board Work Session Highlights from November 3, 2022

Here are highlights from the November 3, 2022, NTPS School Board work session on the school improvement plans.

School Board members recognized “The Spirit of Giving Back” as the 2022-23 NTPS Compassionate Community project. Every year, North Thurston Public Schools partners with the City of Lacey and Lacey South Sound Chamber in this collaborative effort. This year’s theme focuses on volunteering and completing service projects throughout our community.  See more information on the Compassionate Community project >>

NTPS school administrators presented the schools’ 2022-23 School Improvement Plans to the Board. Every school identified 1) a minimum of two goals connected to the 2022-28 NTPS Strategic Action Plan, and 2) the anticipated action steps the school will take to meet those goals. The schools’ goals centered on common themes: addressing the opportunity gaps and strengthening student supports. The principal presenters included the following:

  • High Schools
    • Brody LaRock (Envision Career Academy)
    • Nick Greenwell (North Thurston High School)
  • Middle Schools
