Bus drivers shine in regional Road-E-O! (5/16/19)

Three of our bus drivers recently qualified for the state driving skills, knowledge and aptitude test competition called Bus Road-E-O!

Each May bus drivers from across the state compete in skills, knowledge, and an aptitude test to place for one of 25 positions at the State Conference. The top 3 finishers at state then proceed to the Nationals. NTPS Transportation hosted the regional competition, stretching from the Nisqually River to the Columbia River, from White Pass to the ocean, and as far east as Skamania, WA.

North Thurston Public Schools Transportation Specialists took the top four positions for our ESD Region. Three of these drivers qualified for the State Competition on June 23 in Kennewick. They are:

  • 1st: Steve Roseborough - NTPS - Qualified for State
  • 2nd: Rene Matzen - NTPS - Qualified for State
  • 3rd: Josh Anderson - NTPS - Qualified for State
  • 4th: Ann Panesko - NTPS

This event was organized by Transportation Specialist Loretta Selstrom and her husband Eric Selstrom. Transportation staff also volunteered at the event. “I am extremely proud of this organization for stepping up to make this event happen so successfully,” said Transportation Director John Suessman.
