No. Employers will be contacted by the coordinating teacher to develop a training plan for the student. This training plan is to outline experiences and skills the student wants to develop within the job scope.

Students are required to have successfully completed or be enrolled in a 2nd year of a CTE program. If this is not possible, students can take the Career Choices class concurrently while working in order to qualify.

No. Part of the work-based learning process is finding a job that fits a student’s career plans. If a student is employed, the coordinating teacher will then work with the student and employer to create a training plan.

Yes. Students must provide dependable transportation from school to work.

That depends on the employer. Some positions are internship positions only for work-based students. Other jobs are based on the company’s employment needs.

Yes. Students working will earn the hourly wage posted by the employer for the position. Students will earn school credit based on completing course requirements, documenting work hours, and completing training plans and regular evaluations.
