Student Organizations
Leadership can be defined as the ability to preside, guide, or manage self, others, activities or events with responsibility for the final outcome. CTE Student Organization programs and activities provide students the opportunity to extend what they learn in the classroom. These activities and events are opportunities to interact in a professional environment with a diverse group of peers while learning from professionals in industries related to the curricula. These would include various meetings, community service projects, and local, state, regional, national and international activities, conferences and or competitions.
Students are encouraged to participate in the following CTSO's offered at our schools:
DECA (Distributive Educational Clubs of America)
DECA provides real world experiences in the fields of marketing, business, and entrepreneurship to develop high school students into character-driven leaders who will enrich our corporations and communities.
FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America)
The mission of FBLA is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
FCCLA (Family, Career, & Community Leaders of America)
The FCCLA's mission is to promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer sciences education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development; creative and critical thinking; interpersonal communication; practical knowledge; and vocational preparation.
FFA (Future Farmers of America)
The goal of FFA is to promote the importance of agriculture, premier leadership, personal growth, and career success for students.
First Washington Robotics
First Washington Robotics provides students an opportunity in an organization which will allow them to investigate all aspects of robotics. This will include designing, building, and programming of robots. It will also provide students an opportunity to participate in the First Lego League and First Tech Challenge, which is a state level competition which will require student teams to build, design and program a robot to accomplish a certain task.
