SUN Bucks

Colorful logo of the words SUN Bucks.

Need help feeding your kids when school is out for the summer?

The SUN Bucks program helps families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer. Families will get $120 per eligible child, similar to the SNAP benefits card.

Visit for more info. See additional information on the USDA website.

The Public Charge rule does not apply to this benefit and will not impact immigration status.

How do I get SUN Bucks?

  • Make sure you have a current Child Nutrition application on file (previously called the Free & Reduced Lunch Application). The deadline for the 2023-24 school year has passed, but the 2024-25 school year application will open in August. More information about the Child Nutrition Application.
  • Families who already receive food benefits such as SNAP, FDPIR, TANF, etc., your school-age children are already eligible for the SUN Bucks program.
