Capital Forest Cooperative Preschool
Early Learning Partnership with Capitol Forest Preschool
The Capitol Forest Cooperative Preschool provides play-based learning for ages 2 to 5 and an opportunity for parents to be active in their child’s education.
NTPS partners with Capitol Forest Cooperative Preschool, which is housed in the Family Partnership Center. The Capitol Forest Cooperative Preschool has preschool classrooms for children ages 2-3, 3-4, and 4-5. The classrooms provide play-based learning and opportunities for parents to be active in their child’s education. Parent education and guidance are provided through affiliation with South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC).
SPSCC parent-child parenting education classes at Capitol Forest Co-op Preschool provide a shared learning experience for parents and their children from birth through 5. Parents/caregivers and children learn together in a lab setting once a week. The adults spend time in lectures with the parenting education faculty, while their children enjoy an age-appropriate learning experience with a highly qualified children’s teacher. Adults spend time each class working in the lab classroom with the children, practicing the skills they are learning.
