NTPS Community Relations: Telling Our District's Story
Community Relations is an important link between our schools and the community we serve, especially the 70% of people who do not have school-age children. It's led by Courtney Schrieve, whose responsibilities include serving as spokesperson to the news media, and keeping citizens informed about what's going on in their public schools.
A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Courtney brings nearly 30 years of public relations and media experience to the district. As the primary spokesperson for the district, Courtney is responsible for overseeing and implementing transparent community engagement, media relations, volunteer services, social media, community partnerships and communications. In 2015 she was awarded the Learning and Liberty Award from the Washington School Public Relations Association. Both of Courtney's children have attended North Thurston Public Schools.
