This page is specifically designed for applicants interested in employment as a paraeducator.  The new Federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) legislation requires instructional paraprofessionals to meet mandated standards.  Paraeducators must have a high school diploma or its equivalent and meet one of the following two standards:
  1.  Possess an Associates Degree or higher; or two years of study (72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits) 
  2.  Successfully complete the ETS ParaPro Assessment test with a report score of 461 or higher
    North Thurston Public Schools' instructional paraprofessionals, including the following classifications, must meet the NCLB standard.

    • Health Room
    • In-School Suspension
    • Campus Security
