I love children and knew since I was in the first grade that teaching was the profession for me! I grew up in the Olympia area and graduated from Olympia High School. Following high school I attended Pacific Lutheran University where I acquired my B.A.E with a minor in special education. After graduating from college I taught a year of 1st grade in Phoenix, Arizona and a year in The Shoreline School District in Seattle, Washington. Since I my husband is also a native to Olympia we decided settle in this area to raise our family.I have enjoyed teaching 2nd grade at Evergreen Forest for about 20 years. Since 1993 I have had the opportunity to job share with amazing teachers as I have tried to balance my love of teaching with spending time at home with my own children. Now that my two boys have graduated from college and my daughter is in high school I am excited to have my own second grade classroom. I feel honored to be an educator and strive to instill a lifelong love of learning into each student that I teach.
