Shelley started her career as a special education preschool teacher in 2002 and moved to kindergarten in 2012. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University in Elementary, Early Childhood and Special Education. Then she went on to further her education and received her professional certificate from Pacific Lutheran University. She finished her master’s degree in 2005 from Lesley University. Shelley began at Evergreen Forest Elementary in the North Thurston Public Schools. She was chosen by her principal to be on the Student Improvement Planning Team during her short period at Evergreen Forest where she helped create goals for all students to improve their learning. She also worked in an after school program working on a variety of skills with grades 2nd-5th. She started teaching first grade in 2016. Curently she at Chambers Prairie Elementary and loves teaching first grade.
