The U.S. Department of Agriculture has extended a waiver that will allow us to serve free meals to all children (ages 1-18) through June, 2021. As a result of this news, meals will not be charged to student accounts as we had previously advertised, and we will no longer require you to register for a meal pick up location. Welcome to North Thurston Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services department! We are committed to providing delicious, high quality, nutritious meals to the growing bodies and minds of students. We serve over 2,200 breakfast and 7,500 lunches each day to students. Breakfast and lunch are available at all school locations.
Research shows there is a crucial relationship between good nutrition and positive academic performance. NTPS strives to provide quality meals at affordable prices to promote learning readiness and healthy eating behaviors. NTPS participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. Monthly menus are planned by a Registered Dietitian to meet USDA specifications based on the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
