Dear Nisqually Middle School Students and Families,

    Welcome to the second semester!

Our Nisqually team looks forward to partnering with you to make this second semester a great one for your student. First semester grades are now posted in Skyward, and our second winter sports season is underway.

As we head into the second semester teachers are focused on engaging your students and providing opportunities for growth.  A primary focus for our staff focus around our building is on reading strategies across content areas.  Whetehr in social studies, science, ELA, or math, our staff is working hard to make sure that students are utilizing the same reading strategies in each one of their core classes.

Another focus for us at Nisqually is to make sure all of our students feel like they belong.  Please check our website for our list of clubs and afterschool activities.  From drama and ultimate frisbee, to sci-art and game club, we have a plethora of options for your student, in addition to our sports teams and afterschool math tutoring.

Finally, I would like to invite you to our next Nisqually Parent Advisory Committee (NPAC) meeting to participate in “learning walks” and see our amazing Nisqually students and teachers in action.  Our next NPAC meeting will be March 17th, at 9:20am in our library.  Please join us for donuts, coffee, and learning walks from 9:20-11:00am.  We will be gathering to visit classrooms and see teaching and learning in action, here at Nisqually.  Check our website and Facebook page for upcoming dates.  Please don’t hesitate to stop in and say hello!  Thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with your students.
