From Principal Crane
Dear Nisqually Middle School Students and Families,
It is hard to believe how quickly the first month of school has flown by!
Our Nisqually team is extremely excited for the 2019-2020 school year, and partnering with you to make this a great year for your student. I am joined in supporting our students by Alicia Farmer our new assistant principal, Emily Aufort our Dean of Students, Wade Jerdee our 7th grade language arts teacher/administrative intern, counselors Lisa Sutton, and Lindsey Canley, and our awesome staff. We recognize that middle school is a critical time for your student’s academic, social, and emotional development. We will be working to support your student and help nurture and celebrate their success.
As we head into the fall our teachers are focused on engaging your students and providing opportunities for growth. In our advisories this year, we are focused on organization, as well as social emotional learning (SEL). We believe that strong positive relationships in advisory will help students start each day with success.
This year, we will be holding bi-monthly Nisqually Parent Advisory Committee (NPAC) Meetings to discuss school issues/events and ways to stay involved here at Nisqually. Parents will also have the opportunity to do “learning walks” and see our amazing Nisqually students and teachers in action. Our next NPAC meeting will be November 5th, at 9:20am in our library. Please join us for donuts, coffee, and learning walks from 9:20-11:00am. We will be gathering to visit classrooms and see teaching and learning in action, here at Nisqually. Check our website and Facebook page for upcoming dates. Please don’t hesitate to stop in and say hello! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with your students.
