Professional Biography

  • I am currently in my thirtieth year of teaching.  My career started in the Lake Washington School District where I taught at the junior high level for seventeen years.  I then moved to Olympia and taught two years of high school in Yelm before coming to Komachin Middle School.  This is now my tenth year of teaching at Komachin.  I earned a Bachelor degree from Central Washington University in Mathematics Education in 1985.  A few years later I earned a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Seattle Pacific University.   Besides teaching, my other favorite activities are watching wildlife, SCUBA diving, watching Seahawk games and working with young adults at my church.
