- When is the first day? Mark your calendar! The first days of school depend on your grade this year:
- Grades 6-12: Wednesday, September 6, 2023
- Grades 1-5: Friday, September 8 (Family Connection conferences, Sept 6-7)
- Kindergarten: Monday, September 11 (Family Connection conferences, Sept 6-8)
- Preschool: Thursday, September 14
- Riding the bus? All bus riders must register to ride the bus! Registration form & more info >> The deadline for guaranteed first-day transportation was August 18th! When will route information be posted? September 1st, the information will appear in the SMART tag Parent Portal. Note: If a registered bus rider doesn't ride the bus for 20 days, their bus-riding privileges will be suspended until the Transportation Department is contacted. - School supply lists?
- Elementary Schools: See the list or purchase one of our supply kits online & pick up at your school office. Elementary School Supplies >>
- Secondary Schools: Supplies for secondary schools depend on the school. Some schools have full lists (check their website), and some schools only ask for basic supplies (loose-leaf paper, pens & pencils, etc.)
- Need assistance? Every school has been given free supply donations from Little Red School House. Please contact your school for free supplies. There is no Little Red School House Distribution Day this year.
- New phone number or email address? Review your family info in Skyward Family Access and contact your school office with updates.
- Complete back-to-school forms in Skyward Log into your Skyward Family Access account and complete these forms. Need access? Contact your school office!
- Home Language Survey
- Verify Military Parent or Guardian Affiliation
- Acknowledge that the Student Rights & Responsibilities Handbook has been made available to you on the NTPS website.
- Elementary student? Families of students in grades K-5 will be invited to Family Connections conferences September 6–8 to get to know their teacher and prepare for the new year! Watch for signup instructions from your school at the end of August.
- What about lunch money? Top up your lunch account balance in the online payment portal >> If you qualify for Free & Reduced Lunch, get that application in for free/reduced prices, and waive ASB fees (athletics and other fees). - Vaccines? Now is the time to make sure your students are up-to-date on all vaccines required for school. Learn more on the Immunizations page >>
- Need Dental Care? SmileMobile will be in Lacey in the Timberline High School parking lot from August 21-24 & August 28-31. Make an appointment today! >>
- Get to know your school! Check their website calendar for an open house, orientation, or other back-to-school events. School buildings open to the public in August on the dates below:
- High Schools: Open August 1st
- Middle Schools: Open August 7th
- Elementary Schools: Open August 21st
- Need something different? Our choice schools are still enrolling for this fall!
- Summit Virtual Academy is our 100% online school, serving grades K-12.
- Ignite Family Academy is our family partnership school with optional in-person classes for homeschooler families, serving grades K-8.
- Envision Career Academy is our career-connected, project-based learning school, serving grades 9-12.
