What courses will my student take?
Summit Virtual Academy uses courses from K12 FuelEducation which are all aligned to the same learning standards as the curriculum used in our building classrooms.
Base Camp classes are required for all students in all grades at Summit Virtual Academy. Base Camp classes connect each student with a teacher advisor. Classes meet 5 days per week in live sessions at the start of our school day. In addition to academic and social-emotional coursework, students will build a relationship with an "anchor adult" who will also oversee their progress at Summit and hold monthly progress meetings.
Elementary students take all core courses aligned with Common Core Standards.
Middle School students take English language arts, math, science, history, PE, and will have a required daily Base Camp (advisory) class.
High School students complete coursework in all content areas including English, math, science, social studies, arts, health & fitness, career and technical education, world languages, and electives to meet NTPS graduation requirements and can graduate from Summit Virtual Academy with a North Thurston diploma. They will also have a required daily Base Camp (advisory) class.
