I originally found my passion for teaching through helping youth in social work. The most impactful experience I had was volunteering one of my summers abroad in San Ramón, Costa Rica to teach English at a local
orphanage. I did not realize I would learn more from the kids then I could have ever dreamed of teaching them in return.
Upon my return to the states, I received my B.S in biology from the University of North Texas and my M.A. in teaching secondary science. My biggest interests in school were genetics, immunology, and neuropsychopharm. I also had anamazing opportunity to work alongside my professor to do brain research on the potential of operating a wheelchair solely on an individuals brain signals.
In 2016 I decided to move back to the PNW because I missed being able to climb mountains and visit a different lake every day of the week! I am originally from the Maple Valley area and Lacey has recently
become a new home to me. I feel lucky to be teaching at Komachin Middle School this year! As we adapt to new models of learning, my goal is to make learning online as enjoyable and
personable as the actual classroom setting.
