Welcome to 6th grade! I am Ms. Juliandra Fleener and teach ELA and hi-cap!
I have taught for 21 years. I have taught both in public and private schools from 4th grade up to 12th grade. I have also been a school and city librarian.
I began in Southern Oregon teaching high school and Library Media, moving up to Port Angeles where I taught 7th Grade Language Arts. Settling in Falls City, Oregon, I taught at the high school and at the middle grades before I received a job teaching 6th grade at Santiam Christian in Corvallis, Oregon. I have a Bachelor’s in Humanities along with many hours in graduate level coursework in both education and English from Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon. I am currently working on my Masters in Curriculum and INstruction from WGU and will have that completed by the end of the 2019-20 school year.
I have two children. My daughter recently graduated from Whitworth University as a Psychology Major and my son is a Junior at Oregon State University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
Being an English teacher I do love reading and look forward to those moments when I have an opportunity to pick up a good book. In my spare time I do crossfit, hot yoga, play golf, run, and bike. I love music as well and am learning guitar.
I love teaching and my favorite part is the relationships I build with kids. I love encouraging them to become the young adults that they don’t always believe they can be. If I can help kids take one step towards being contributing citizens, then I have done my job.
