Professional Biography
-
I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Oregon University back in 2003 and after working for a year, decided to go on an adventure. I flew half way around the world to teach English in South Korea. I fell in love with teaching and learning about other cultures. I attended Lewis and Clark College and earned my Masters in Teaching in 2006, which was immediately followed by an ESOL endorsement.
I’ve been teaching for 12 years and I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else! I believe that teachers are learners just as much as the students. I like to get myself out of my comfort zone and learn about other cultures and places by traveling around the world, but also by exploring in my own neighborhood, state and country. These experiences have prepared me and inspired me to teach students in a wide variety of ways to help them learn and grow as well as for making great connections with students. Come explore learning in my classroom!
