I taught elementary school in CA where I received my BCLAD (Bilingual - Crosscultural Language in Academic Development) Certificate in Spanish. I then taught Spanish at the middle and high school level in CA. When I moved to WA, I taught high school Spanish. In 2015 I went back to school and received a masters in English as a Second Language. I have been teaching for over 20 years.The ESL program is designed to support students who speak a language other than English at home. Its purpose is to increase vocabulary, practice grammatical skills as well as support the ‘Reach for Reading’ textbooks that are used in the mainstream classroom.
