Carol Sivils

Professional Biography

  • Welcome to my class! My name is Carol Sivils, and I am privileged to teach 4th grade at Lacey. I am a proud military spouse who has had the opportunity to teach in several great states throughout the United States. I began teaching in 2001 in Lawton, Oklahoma after graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree from Cameron University in Elementary Education. I taught in Oklahoma for 9 yrs. While there, I taught 3rd grade, a 3rd/4th grade split, 6th grade in elementary school, and 6th grade in a middle school. I also completed a Master’s Degree program with a Master’s in School Counseling. After Oklahoma, I took a break from teaching for 2 years while my family moved to Santa Clara, California for 10 months and El Paso, Texas for a year. During my two year break, I continued to work with students as a tutor and was a parent volunteer. After El Paso, my family moved to Fort Belvoir, Virginia where I taught 6th grade math and science at Hollin Meadows: Math and Science Focus School for 1 year. From Virginia, we moved to Harker Heights, Texas where I was a school counselor for one year at Westward Elementary. The military brought us here to Washington where I began teaching Special Education/Title Math Support at Lacey. I transitioned back to the classroom to teach 4th grade, and I am loving it!
