Message from Principal Nick Greenwell

Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, and Members of the Ram Community,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! My name is Nick Greenwell, and I am excited to enter my sixth year as principal at a school that truly values all students. You will not find a better staff in any school in Washington, and they do everything possible to ensure that all students graduate with the tools they need to enter the college or career of their choice. We emphasize the importance of strong student/staff relationships as we strive to help all students meet their potential in all areas.
Our building remodel added many positive features to our campus. We now have a dedicated bus loop separate from student or staff parking and a parent pick-up zone. Our spacious classrooms are fully modernized and provide wonderful learning spaces for our students. We also have new tennis courts and a fastpitch field completed less than a year ago.
In conjunction with the district's "Solution Seekers" theme, we will focus on helping our students successfully return to school after two years of Covid disruption. This transition will be vital as we realize the pandemic's impact on our students. Returning to a traditional year of learning will allow our staff to positively impact our students as they always have. Establishing an avenue for student voice will be especially important during these times. Students are encouraged to be part of our Principal's Advisory Council which meets quarterly to provide input to administration as we look to address the needs of all students.
We have also added many new academic offerings, including courses such as Teaching Academy, Sports Officiating, CTE Commercial Arts, Astronomy, Oceanography, and others. These offerings are just another example of how our highly qualified and creative teaching staff constantly look for new ways to prepare our students for life after high school.
North Thurston is extremely fortunate and grateful for the overwhelming support we get from our community. We believe this allows our staff, students, and families to work together to help students graduate best prepared to reach their goals. Please feel free to call or email if you need to connect with our administration. As a school community, we are committed to providing a safe, positive environment where every student's success is paramount. Thanks to your help, we look forward to another great year at NTHS!
Go Rams!
