Message from Principal Nick Greenwell
Dear Parents, Guardians, Students and Other Members of the Ram Community,
Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! My name is Nick Greenwell and I am truly fortunate to be the principal of North Thurston High School where we truly value the positive relationships formed between our staff, students, parents/guardians and community as a whole. These relationships are a vital part of the foundation we establish in order to help our students achieve at the highest levels possible.
In conjunction with the district’s theme of “Everyone Belongs”, we are working to break down the walls that often serve as barriers to all of our students being able to graduate with the preparation necessary to pursue the educational and/or career goal of their choice. To this end, we are working closely with the University of Washington and South Puget Sound College to allow our students to receive college credit while being able to remain on our campus and having all of the opportunities and advantages that a high school environment provides.
We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for the modernization of our building. Ground was broken on the construction of the new gym in spring 2015, and we plan on finalizing construction in the main building by January 2019. The remaining work will involve the courtyard area, sidewalks, sports field, new bus loop and retention pond. The vast majority of the project should be completed by September 2019. We’re excited about the beautiful facility we will have in place at that time for our students and the entire Ram community!
Thanks again for all of the support the North Thurston community supplies to our students and staff. We will continue to emphasize high academic standards while also focusing on student, parent and community engagement. It is our belief that this will serve our students in their efforts to become the best people they can be!
Principal, North Thurston High School
