Professional Biography

I came to River Ridge in 2016 from the Olympia School District where I taught high school Drama, English, and a stint in Social Studies, as well as high school and elementary Library Media. My Library Endorsement is from Central Washington University. My teaching credential is from The Evergreen State College (K-12, Language Arts, Theatre Arts). I also have a Bachelor’s degree in Drama from Western Washington University, and a Master’s degree in Drama from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
My husband and I have lived in Thurston County for over 37 years and have two grown kids. My son has two Bachelor’s degrees (US History and Labor Studies), and my daughter has a Bachelor’s degree in Geography (Sustainable Agriculture).
Six of my nieces and nephews have gone through the North Thurston School District, with two more who will be in NTPS in a few years, and I am proud to serve as a Teacher Librarian in this great district.
Schedule

The library is open from 7 – 3 on M-Th. and from 7-2:30 on Fri. I teach a variety of information literacy classes throughout the day. I enjoy helping students find just the right book, learn how to do effective research and understand the ever changing world of information technology and literacy.
