My name is Carol Legate-Grace. I am the special education teacher at SSHS. I have a Bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University in education. Later I earned a Master's degree in Educational Technology. I have graduate level studies in school psychology and administration. I have been teaching for many years. I knew at an early age that I wanted to become a teacher after hanging out in my mother's classroom. She was a special education teacher and I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps. Throughout my teaching career I have worked with exceptional learners. I enjoy the individual challenges my students bring to the classroom and love helping to teach students that they are capable of doing much more than they sometimes think they can. In my younger days I was a bit of a rolling stone so I was fortunate to get to work in several different states and positions. I have taught from kindergarten to 12th grade. SSHS is my newest and probably last school home. I have never enjoyed a school more than I enjoy SSHS. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and exploring Washington.
