A little bit about me!
My Educational Background:
I was born and raised in Olympia, WA and attended North Thurston Public Schools. After I graduated from high school, I went on to South Puget Sound CC on a fastpitch scholarship. I then transferred to Central Washington University and graduated with my bachelors in Special Education and Psychology.
While I was in community college, I loved volunteering and spending time in my mother’s preschool classroom! Watching the teachers and students work together inspired me to get a degree in Special Education.
This is my 5th year at Meadows Elementary! My first two years, I taught Integrated Preschool. I transitioned into the C-STeP classroom working with children with Autism for two years! This year I will be teaching two types of classrooms. I will have an Integrated classroom in the morning and I will be teaching a Communication classroom in the afternoon, two days a week!
A little bit about me:
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I spent a lot of my time outside exploring, hiking and camping! Most weekends, you will find me in the middle of the woods, at the beach or in the mountains. I spend my time outdoors with my husband and our two pups, Leo and Maia! We also co-own a coffee shop in downtown Olympia called Ember Goods.
In June, I gave birth to a sweet baby boy named River! This summer we were able to go to the ocean, the river, camping and to our family cabin in Leavenworth! We were also able to sleep when we wanted so this will be an adjustment transitioning back to school and a routine.
I am SO excited for this year and to get the opportunity to work with your child. I LOVE to play, have fun and make art, all while learning and teaching together. Feel free to ask me questions, whenever!
