A note about calculators
Before buying a calculator, it is wise to talk with your student about their math and science goals. Ideally, you only need to buy one calculator for high school, and with planning, that can be accomplished. Students who plan to take advanced math and science classes need a high-quality graphing calculator. Your student should talk to their math teacher once school starts to determine the best calculator for their needs.
