Michele Tamanaha

Professional Biography

  • My name is Michele Tamanaha. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Western Washington University and a Master in Teaching degree from City University. I have been teaching primary level children for 20 years. My elementary school teaching career began in Hawaii. I learned so much from being immersed in the Hawaiian culture and working with such a diverse community. The next years of my teaching career brought me back to Washington State, where I grew up. It's wonderful to be back in the Northwest and contributing to the community that raised me.
I love teaching first-graders at Horizons! I am lucky to be a part of a positive and friendly learning community. First-graders are so full of excitement and curiosity. I am blessed to be a part of so many children's lives as they learn and grow!
