Professional Biography

I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Washington State University in 2006. I received my Master of Arts in Education: Curriculum and Instruction from University of Phoenix shortly after. My teaching career started with student teaching in Vilseck, Germany at Vilseck High School. This was an amazing experience where I was able to see many European countries. I also am an NBCT! My certified area is EA Science.
I taught high school science at Hicks High School in Louisiana for three years. At the high school level I taught Physical Science, Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and Biology II. During this high school teaching experience I was awarded the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Advisor of the Year for the state of Louisiana. I was able to take students to the National Leadership Conference in California for competition.After my husband retired from the military we moved home to Washington! I worked for two years at Centralia Middle School where I taught 7th and 8th grade science. I have been teaching 7/8 science at Komachin ever since! This will be my 7th year teaching 7th/8th grade science at KMS. Looking forward to a great year!
