Welcome to my page and River Ridge High School! I’m excited to work with each of you as we learn about History both in the past and how it connects with our world today. I have taught History at the high school level since 2002 and enjoy helping students see the connections between the events of the past and our lives today. This is my first year at RRHS.
I received my BA from Sonoma State University in California and my Masters in Teaching at The Evergreen State College. I joined the teacher profession after working a YMCA Youth and Family program directory. I have a very diverse teaching background. My experience includes working at an alternative Continuation high school, large urban high school (both in Los Angeles) and a purely online school (where I was one of the founding teachers). Most recently, I taught at Shelton High.
I have a strong commitment to the development and use of engaging and interactive curriculum. My students participate in project based learning, simulations and use role-plays and primary resources to help explore multiple perspectives.
