Professional Biography

  • I have been teaching German at Timberline since 2001. I have my B.A. from Lewis and Clark College in German and Religious Studies, and my Masters of Arts in Teaching from The Evergreen State College.  I lived and studied in Germany in 1976-78 and have traveled there extensively. I am a member of the American Association of Teachers of German and serve on the district's World Languages Leadership Committee. In 2014 I was named World Language Teacher of the Year by the Washington Association for Language Teachers. Affectionately known as “Frau Hallett”, I help students learn basic German for conversing and communicating when traveling in a German-speaking country or to prepare for college level German. Germany is one of the largest exporters in the world and home of many great cultural and scientific innovations – you can’t go wrong in your career planning with a background in German!
