I am originally from Massachusetts, but the Army brought our family to Washington in 2010. I received my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Utah State University, with a minor in Portuguese. I also hold a Master's Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), from the University of Southern California. I speak Spanish and Portuguese. My teaching experience includes English as a Second Language in Utah; second grade in Oklahoma; and both ESL and Special Ed in northern Idaho.
I first came to NTPS as the Behavior Specialist at Lakes Elementary. I learned more from that job than any other I've worked at before. After two years in that position, as my husband retired from the Army, I transitioned back into full time teaching in 6th grade. Two years later, as sixth grades transitioned to middle schools, I joined the team at Salish to continue working with this fantastic age group! We have five kids, so my free time is divided among their activities, as well as my hobbies of photography and bingewatching Netflix.
