Lacey Loves to Read!
Lacey Loves to Read is a community reading initiative designed to generate the discussion and celebration of a notable author. It includes a bookmark creation contest held district-wide with prizes, short story writing events and more. Each year, a notable children's author visits to share insights with participants on writing and reading.

She is a five-time winner of the Coretta Scott King Literary Award, and New York Times best-selling author. She has been honored at the White House six times, and was chosen as one of only four authors in the country to speak at the Library of Congress's National Book Festival Gala in Washington, DC, and to represent the United States in Moscow at their Book Festival.
