Professional Biography

  • I earned my teaching degree at Central Washington University in 1996 (go Wildcats), where I double majored in K-8 education and K-12 special education.  After spending the first ten years of my career teaching special education, I moved into teaching math at the middle school level. For the last 9 years I have taught all levels of middle school math, including intervention classes and 8th grade Algebra.  Teaching math has become a true passion of mine!  I believe that all students can deeply think mathematically, create understanding for themselves, and share that understanding with others.  Mathematics isn't memorizing a set of facts or formulas, it is a language and a method of understanding the world around us.
