Professional Biography

  • Hello!  My name is Mrs. Cook and I am the Art Specialist here at Woodland Elementary School.  I earned my Teaching Certification and Bachelor's degree from Central Washington University, and a Master's of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governor's University. I have been teaching fine arts in Thurston County since 1993.  I am passionate about using the arts to create awareness about preserving and sustaining our environment.  I look forward to working with your students this year!

Recycle for the Art Room

  • We need some specific recycled items in the Art Room. Here is a list!

    • Dried out markers
    • Lids from bottles, tubs, etc.
    • Paper towel rolls
    • Scrapbooking paper
    • Cereal boxes
    • Children's magazines containing no advertisements 
    • White sheets, cream or white fabric for batik projects
    • Yarn
    • Small scraps of fabric
    • Tissue paper...when you would no longer wrap a present with it, bring it in. All colors!
    • Metal muffin tins
