Summer break at North Thurston Public Schools is June 22nd through September 4th. The first day of school for students is September 5th. During the break, services are limited - school offices have specific summer hours, as does the district office. Please see below for more information. Keep your academic skills sharp this summer, but enjoy your break! We are excited to see you in the fall!

Individual School Office HoursSchool offices are closed for the majority of the break, but are open up to a month before school starts to serve you. Please check your school's website for specific dates and times.

Summer Meal ProgramBrought to you by NTPS, Lacey, Lakes, Lydia Hawk and Timberline host a free summer breakfast/lunch program. More information is available on the Food Services Summer Lunch page. Lacey Parks Day Camps & Playground PalsLacey Parks & Recreation runs day camps at our schools (for those that register) and a completely free afternoon supervised playground program called Playground Pals. Information can be found on the Lacey Parks & Recreation website.
Thurston Together! Community ClubhouseThurston Together runs a grant-funded Clubhouse out of Meadows, Lakes, and Lydia Hawk elementaries. Participation is free, but you must fill out an application. More information & applications are on their website.
ChildcareSouth Sound YCare: The YMCA runs a childcare program out of two of our schools in the summer: Chambers Prairie Elementary and Seven Oaks Elementary. More information is available on the South Sound YMCA website.
Operation BackpackOperation Backpack is a community-wide effort to help families with school supplies and backpacks. Backpacks will be distributed as needed through individual school Counselors and Intervention Specialists at the start of school. Please be sure to contact your school if you are in need of supplies.
Free Immunization ClinicsFree clinics coming up during Little Red Schoolhouse and other places throughout the community in August and September. Bring your child's previous immunization records (if available), no pre-registration necessary, immunizations available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Download Flyer (PDF) - Spanish included.
Little Red SchoolhouseSchool supplies and clothing will be distributed to all families in need on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 8 AM to 6 PM in the Komachin Middle School parking lot. Each child will be able to choose a backpack filled with school supplies (based on individual lists), and a gently used or new coat, socks, and underwear. Families should plan on spending several hours at the event as it is usually crowded. Visit the Little Red Schoolhouse website for more information.
