Have a great summer break!

  • Summer break at North Thurston Public Schools is June 26th through September 5th. The first day of school for students is September 6th. During the break, services are limited - school offices have specific summer hours, as does the district office. Please see below for more information. Keep your academic skills sharp this summer, but enjoy your break! We are excited to see you in the fall!

    Individual School Office Hours

    School offices are closed for the majority of the break, but are open up to a month before school starts to serve you. Please check your school's website for specific dates and times.

Enrollment & Transfers

  • New Student Enrollment

    New student registration takes place at each school. Office hours are limited during the summer months, but are open up to a month before school starts. Please prepare to enroll your student in August if your school office is closed. More information.

    Summer School

    NTPS's Summer School option, or Credit Retrieval, had a registration deadline of June 30, 2017. See the Summer School pages for more information.

Summer Meals, School Supplies, and Services

  • Summer Meal Program & Playground Pals

    In conjuction with Lacey Parks & Recreation, certain area schools host a summer breakfast/lunch program as well as afternoon activities. More information is available on the Lacey Parks & Recreation Youth Programs pages. Thurston County Food Bank also offers free lunches in areas throughout the county. Visit their website.

    Operation Backpack

    Operation Backpack is a community-wide effort to help families with school supplies and backpacks. Backpacks will be distributed as needed through individual school Counselors and Intervention Specialists at the start of school. Please be sure to contact your school if you are in need of supplies.

    Free Immunization Clinics

    Free clinics coming up during Little Red Schoolhouse and other places throughout the community in August and September. Bring your child's previous immunization records (if available), no pre-registration necessary, immunizations available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Download flyer (PDF) - Spanish included.

    Little Red Schoolhouse

    School supplies and clothing will be distributed to all families in need on Thursday, August 17, from 8 AM to 6 PM in the Komachin Middle School parking lot. Each child will be able to choose a backpack filled with school supplies (based on individual lists), and a gently used or new coat, socks, and underwear. Families should plan on spending several hours at the event as it is usually crowded. Visit the Little Red Schoolhouse website for more information.
