PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) at Lakes

  • Lakes Elementary is proud to be a PBIS school! PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention Supports. At the beginning of each school year, we teach all students our three school expectations:

    • Be Respectful
    • Be Responsible
    • Be Safe

We also teach students our behavior expectations for each school setting, like the classroom, hallways, and playground. See below for the school-wide and student expectations. Students who know the expectations can make good choices.

In the first months of school, the principals and counselor deliver lessons to each classroom on problem-solving and bullying prevention. Teachers also give lessons on how to Stop and Think, in order to make good choices. We appreciate PTA’s support of PBIS. Parent support has helped make PBIS an even stronger program!
