I'm the Life Skill special education teacher in the primary classroom. I have been teaching in North Thurston School District at Lacey Elementary since 2010. I was a preschool teacher for 5 year before I moved to the life skills program. Before that I attended Central Washington University earning a dual major in Special Education and Early Childhood Education. As a student I interned in a program where I worked extensively with children with autism. I also gained experience working with children with emotional/behavioral disorders. During high school and college I worked as a preschool teacher and caregiver with young children at the YMCA and several different preschools and childcare centers. I have always enjoyed supporting children in their first school experience and helping them develop a love of learning.
