Professional Biography

  • Welcome to our classroom website!  This is my tenth year at Woodland Elementary teaching second grade. I am excited to be a part of a wonderful staff!  After moving to the Pacific Northwest in 1977 my teaching career began in Bethel School District teaching Title 1 Reading, second, and third grades.  After moving to the Lacey area I began my North Thurston career in 1986 at Chinook MS, teaching Title 1 Math.  From there I spent 22 years at Lakes Elementary teaching Title 1 Reading, Reading  Recovery, and  first and second grades.  I have been involved in many district and school committees throughout the years. My BA was earned at Hope College in Holland, Michigan; and Master's in Education from CW Post College at Long Island University. Learning is my passion, so I am continuously taking new classes, learning new ideas to incorporate into my classroom!  I hope to instill a love for learning, reading, writing and math in each of my students this year!
