Welcome to the Counseling Office!

  • Counseling Services at Seven Oaks happen at different levels-- individual, group, class and school-wide. The purpose is to promote readiness for learning by addressing social & emotional needs to benefit the whole child.

We work together to provide Counseling and Guidance Services to Seven Oaks students.

Individual services generally provide brief, short-term sessions (sometimes for the purpose of connecting to outside resources, or to help through a crisis or change in life) and assistance building skills for functioning respectfully & successfully in the classroom.

Group services are geared toward the needs of our students: often military, friendship & social skills groups.

Class services involve presenting topics and building skills that are important for many students. We often use Second Step and Steps to Respect to encourage respectful behavior and anti-bullying.

Whole School services revolve around FRRED (our school values.... fairness, respect, responsibility, empathy and dignity). We use a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) structure. It builds on our school values and is a framework for how our values, expectations, rewarding positive behavior, data-tracking and discipline systems interact together to impact school-wide behavior positively. Other services include: 504s, Holiday Giving, Attendance Monitoring, and sharing of resources.
