I have been a classroom teacher for 17 Years. I was an Active Duty Air Force Human Resource manager and pursued my Post- Secondary Education Bachelor’s degree so I could work in a training capacity. While I was doing my student teaching at the end of my program I worked with 16 year old boys. They had to entertain 15 four year olds. Well they amazed themselves as well as me. But not just my students but the four year olds. That very day I went down to the admissions office and I changed my major to Curriculum and Instruction and finished my Masters with a focus on elementary aged students. I loved it. I started out by teaching Kindergarten and then First Grade. After teaching first grade for so long I decided to look at a change. What was my passion in first grade…Reading/Information/Technology. How could I do that…Librarian? Off to school I went. In May of 2017 I finished my Librarian Certification Program through Seattle Pacific University. Here I am at Evergreen Forest Elementary and looking forward to exploring, discovering, and enjoying the journey with amazing students, families, and colleagues. I feel so grateful to be part of Evergreen Forest as I start my library journey. As a person I am very active with quilting, crafting, hiking, biking, kayaking, and being outside. I am married with 2 kids, 3 grand fur babies, and we all love the have adventures together too. I take all this life experience and translate it into different types of ideas for the library to try. We all learn on our own, then bring that to the table to learn together. Come meet me in the Library! I’d love to me you. See you in the Forest!
