Mrs. Sears

Professional Biography

  • Thank you for visiting our 4th grade web page. I began teaching in North Thurston Public Schools in 1991 and have been here at Evergreen Forest Elementary since 1992. During that time I have taught third, fourth, and fifth grades. It has been a joy seeing the growth students make from year to year!

I originally graduated from Washington State University with a music performance degree and went on to earn my teaching certificate from St. Martin's University and a Master's Degree in Education and Curriculum Development from City University. Over the years I have served on many committees and task forces for the district, have piloted both math and reading programs, and have trained teachers in math programs in several districts surrounding Olympia.

In my personal time I enjoy performing in several musical groups around the area including the Olympia Symphony and Tacoma Opera, swimming, gardening, and doing all kinds of crafting projects. I am continually thankful to work in such a wonderful building with a great staff and students. Evergreen Forest is a great place to work and learn!
