  • School Construction Delays

Due to road frontage construction along Sleater Kinney NE and 6th Avenue NE there will be limited pedestrian access to the NTHS site and Chinook Middle School. The attached aerial views show what is a suggested path of travel in the interim and the access points to the campus where crosswalks exist. These are suggested access routes during the construction since sidewalks are being replaced to City of Lacey standards. The Sleater Kinney work is scheduled to continue for the next two weeks and the 6th Avenue work will proceed the Sleater Kinney improvements for another two weeks. The access points for vehicle traffic will remain open but will have work performed. The contractor will make every attempt to maintain access by scheduling this portion of work for hours with the least amount of traffic. Also, as mentioned earlier there will be some traffic impacts at various times of the day while road frontage work continues. All work and timelines are weather dependent.
