School Board
NTPS Board of Directors
The NTPS Board of Directors is the primary policymaking body for the district. Using a policy governance model, the Board:
- Establishes the district's vision and goals and hold the Superintendent accountable for achieving the goals through monitoring reports at Board meetings.
- Adopts and monitors the annual district budget.
- Hires and evaluates the Superintendent.
- Participates in events and activities to ensure community voice is part of the decision-making process.

- The Thurston County Auditor's Elections Division holds occasional Candidate Filing Workshops. Visit their website to find opportunities.
Members are elected to four-year terms and must live in one of five areas called districts. Learn more about the members and see a district map.
Board meetings are generally held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:00 pm, and the public is encouraged to attend. The meetings are held in the Board Room of the NTPS Administrative Center, 305 College Street NE, or at a school.
Agendas and meeting minutes are public records and are available for review at the Superintendent's Office and on the board materials page.
The Board of Directors regularly informs the public of their vision through the publication of opinion pieces:
