District Policies
The district’s policies and procedures are adopted by the North Thurston Public Schools Board of Directors. The policies are principles adopted by the board to chart a course of action, while the procedures are the detailed directions that put policy into practice.
The Board of Directors establishes the vision for the district, advocates for public education, and serves the community by adopting Ends policies and Executive Limitations policies. Accountability for achieving the goals outlined in the policies is accomplished through monitoring reports, which are presented for review, feedback, and approval at Board meetings. The Board's commitment to policy governance is outlined in the Board Member Handbook.
