Young Child and Family Center of Lacey
Young Child and Family Center of Lacey
We are in the design phase for the Young Child and Family Center! We expect to begin construction in winter 2025 and open the facility in summer 2027!
This preschool and family education facility is funded by the 2024 NTPS Capital Levy for Safety, Technology, and Facilities Improvement. The 2023 Legislature appropriated $1 million from the Ruth Kagi Early Learning Facilities Development Account to support the architectural design phase of the Young Child & Family Center.
The Young Child and Family Center will:
- Serve up to 600 students annually with high-quality indoor and outdoor preschool spaces.
- Offer family-friendly spaces for parenting classes and other agencies to provide families with on-site health and wellness support.
- Provide a commercial kitchen for serving students' nutritional needs.
- Include a library to serve students and families.
Working with community partners, we are exploring future additions such as aquatics and indoor spaces to support recreation opportunities and creative play spaces for family-based physical activity.
