Nisqually Middle School track and field
As part of the 2020 bond promise to refresh playfields, NTPS upgraded the Nisqually Middle School track and football/soccer/play field. This project includes:
- Replacing the grass field with turf for year-round use
- Resurfacing the track.
- Adding lights, so the facility can be used at night.
- Adding seating.
This project will benefit both the school and the larger community! It will:
- Add physical education programming space for NMS students.
- Position NMS as a resource for large middle school events, freeing up South Sound Stadium for other events.
- Accelerate and save money on the River Ridge High School modernization by providing a space for RRHS athletes while RRHS athletic space is modernized.
- Add to overall athletic facilities capacity for community use.
Work will be completed in spring 2025. Crews will access the project from Marvin Road, so we anticipate minimal disruption to Nisqually Middle School operations.
