School kitchens may be used if you have approval from Food and Nutrition Services. Once approval has been granted, arrangements will be made for a Food and Nutrition staff member to be present during use of any kitchen equipment. The food function is sanctioned by Thurston County Health Department only if Food & Nutrition staff are present. The staff member will be responsible for supervising use of equipment and supplies along with assisting with any food preparation that takes place in the kitchen. The group utilizing the facility will be billed $30.00 per hour for labor associated with the use of a school kitchen.
