REQUESTING LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Many scholarships and colleges/programs ask for at least one letter of recommendation from a school counselor or teacher. It is best practices to give the person you are asking to write you a letter approximately 2 weeks notice to write your letter. If you ask the day before, the person may not even see an email from you and/or may not have time and we want to write thorough letters on your behalf.
Below are links to two forms that give people the information needed to write letters. Choose the appropriate form (or one you like best if a specific form is not indicated), complete, and provide when you request a letter to be written.
There are two kinds of transcripts - Official and Unofficial. It is usually specified which type is needed when applying for scholarships, colleges, and/or providing documentation. Both contain the same information - all classes and grades to date. An official transcript is signed and sealed to show the recipient that it has not been tampered with and comes directly from the source (in this case NTHS).
NEED A TRANSCRIPT??
For official transcripts, please make sure you first pay the one-time $5 fee (this fee is one time - for as many transcripts as you need over time, it is not $5 per transcript). This fee can be paid through the online portal, Touchbase. Families or the student can log in to the online payment portal and pay this fee. Please see this link for Touchbase, https://www.nthurston.k12.wa.us/domain/3501
Then, email NTHS registrar - Mrs. Jara Wright- with your request and any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org
