  • K-2 Library Club

     

    Week of June 8-12:

    Thank you to everyone who came to Library Club this week! Look for Amuy Wu and the Perfect Bao in the library next year. If you want to watch kids making bao or learn how to draw a dog or a dragon, here are the links:

    This week I'll be reading aloud Amy Wu and the Perfect Bao. We'll also be watching a video where some children learn how to make bao. Then we'll joing Grace Lin and learn how to draw a dog and maybe a dragon. Bring a piece of paper and a pencil so you're ready to draw.

    This week in  Library Club I’ll be reading aloud Mario and the Hole in the Sky. We'll also be watching a video that will teach us more about the atmosphere. To finish up our library club, we'll be listening to Jason Reynolds read the first chapter of his book Ghost.

    This week I'll be reading aloud If Elephants Disappeared. We'll also be going back to the Cincinnati Zoo for another virual safari, this time with the elephants.

    This week we're learning how to vote for Children's Choice books. I'll also be doing two read alouds: Cora Cooks Pancit and Just Ask!.

    Week of June 1-5:

    Thank you to everyone who came to Library Club this week. We listened to Kwame Alexander read his book The Undefeated, which started as a poem for an ESPN website. We also listened to Kate Messner read her book The Brilliant Deep, took a virtual tour of a kelp forest, and took a dive into the Great Ocean tank at the New England Aquarium.     This week in  Library Club we’ll be listening to Kwame Alexander read his book The Undefeated, which started as a poem for an ESPN website. We'll also be listening to Kate Messner read her book The Brilliant Deep, taking a virtual tour of a kelp forest, and taking a dive into the Great Ocean tank at the New England Aquarium.

    This week Library Club will be on Friday, May 29 from 1:00 - 1:30. We’ll be hearing about the “Rick Riordan Presents” books. I’ll be reading the introductions to Sal and Gabi Break the UniverseDragon Pearl, and Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky. We’ll also be doing another favorite book share, so come and talk about a book you love.

    I'll be reading aloud the from the third and fourth chapters of Time Castaways: The Mona Lisa Key. We'll also be wathcing virtual tours of the Louvre Museum and the Mona Lisa.

    I'll be reading aloud the first chapter from Time Castaways: The Mona Lisa Key. We'll also be wathcing a virtual tour of the Arms and Armor section of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, so we can see where the main characters' parents work.
