Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students:
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. With new seasons come new faces. I have eagerly accepted a position at your school for the School Nurse position. Don’t fear! Your trusty health room assistants have stayed the same and I cannot wait to work alongside them.
I am excited to get to meet so many new faces and work with the amazing staff here. As a mother myself and a seasoned military wife, I hope my experiences and compassion for healing will live up to your expectations. This year I will be servicing both Komachin Middle School and Timberline High School as well as providing services across the district to my fellow RN’s as the lead nurse for North Thurston. Additionally, I am actively working towards my Masters in Nurse Education. I hope to become a Nursing Professor in about two years.
One aspect that I appreciated immensely throughout my life as student and a nurse was the open door policy my superiors had. Therefore, I am happy to adopt the same policy. Should you need to talk, say hi, or let me know your concerns, please feel free to come see me in my office located inside the health room.
If you are a parent or guardian with a child who has health conditions that require medication or a plan, please contact the health room as soon as possible. The quicker we can get the medication in and plans created, the smoother the start of the year will be on all parties.
I look forward to servicing your students this year.
Fawn Miller, RN BSN
